Bedliners

Pickup truck bedliners are available from several different manufacturers, and it can be difficult for the newcomer to decide which type is most appropriate. There are two main categories: sprayed-on and drop-in bed liners. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, depending on the particular vehicle and intended usage.

Bed liners: different types

Sprayed-on bedliners

A sprayed-on bed liner will adhere to the truck's body, and cannot be removed. This type of bedliner is thinner than the drop-in type, but will cut down on minor dents. However, being thin, sprayed-on bedliners are vulnerable to dents and perforations. These bed liners can be fixed on to any type of body panel, even those on the inside, or floor panels, and is easy to clean: however, some stubborn stains can become permanent.

Drop-in bed liners

A drop-in bed liner, as its name implies, can be dropped into place, and just as easily removed again. Being fairly thick and rigid, drop-in bed liners provide the best protection against dents. This type of bed liner is very easy to clean, and can be mounted either over or under the bedrail. Although these bedliners can be dented or broken, they will at least provide some protection to the truck bed.
